Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licences

Please see the application and renewal guidance for drivers which outlines details of recent changes to the application process for new and existing drivers. Details of these changes are also contained in the Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Drivers, Proprietors and Operators Handbook 2012.

Please note that with effect from 26 March 2012, Criminal Records checks will be enhanced and the fee will be £44.00.

A 1.35% administration charge will be added for any payments made using a credit card or non UK Debit Card. The exact amount you will be charged will be advised before you confirm your payment. This charge does not apply when paying a Fixed Penalty Charge (Parking Fine). There is no charge for payments made by UK Debit Card.

A copy of the public register for hackney carriage vehicles will be updated each month.
