Health and Safety Campaigns

Information on campaigns can be obtained from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)

The Council is active in dealing with issues in workplaces for which the Council has an enforcement responsibility

Information is available on some of the campaigns that the Council is involved with including:

• Safe and Sound at Work - Do Your Bit on the importance of consulting employees
• Asbestos - Hidden Killer on the importance of identifying and managing asbestos in workplaces
• Shattered Lives on preventing slips, trips and falls at work

Other campaigns cover workplaces where health and safety is enforced by the HSE:

• Make the Promise - Come Home Safe - safety on farms
• Vehicle Load Safety - safety in transport

Previous campaigns included the following:

• "Better Backs" which covered manual handling
• "Bad Hand Day" which covered dermatitis
• "Workplace transport" which covered the safe interaction of people and vehicles
• "Working at heights" which aimed to reduce falls
• "Moving Good Safely" which covered all aspects of health and safety through the supply chain
• "Noise at work" which aimed to minimise or control noise at work
