Health & safety at work

The Council aims to protect the health, safety and welfare of all persons affected by those work activities for which the Council has an enforcement responsibility and to promote health and safety within these activities. It does this by undertaking planned inspections and a range of other activities.

Workplaces for which the Council has an enforcement responsibility are retailing, most offices, hotels and catering establishments, sports, leisure, consumer services, places of workshop and some warehouses. Responsibility in most other workplaces falls to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

A copy of the latest Health and Safety Newsletter can be viewed or downloaded from the link on the right of this page.

This is obtainable from the Council or alternatively you may complete this form online, then print and sign it, and send it to the Council, or the local HSE office, as appropriate.
