How to payDirect DebitThis is the easiest method of payment both for you as the customer and for the Council. It saves you the worry of remembering to pay each month, of writing a cheque, posting it or paying at the Council's Cashiers office. Payment by Direct Debit is covered by a guarantee for your peace of mind. The Direct Debit Guarantee This Guarantee is offered by all Banks and Building Societies that take part in the Direct Debit Scheme. The efficiency and security of the scheme is monitored and protected by your own Bank or Building Society.
All you have to do is print off the Direct Debit form, which is available from the 'Downloads' section of this page as a word document, complete it, and return it to us at the following address: (Sorry, at the moment we cannot accept forms via e-mail or fax.) Please make sure you quote your Non-Domestic Rate bill number, on the Direct Debit instruction form. The bill number can be found on your Non-Domestic Rate Bill. Alternatively please write your address (or the address of the property for which you are paying council tax) on the back of the form. OnlineYou can now pay your Business Rates online using a credit or debit card. All you need is your payment reference number (e.g. Council Tax account number) and your payment card details. You can use your bank debit card or credit card to pay online: Visa, MasterCard, Visa Delta, Switch, Solo and Electron are all accepted. TelephoneWe provide an automated telephone payments service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 01993 861045. All you need is your payment reference number (e.g. Council Tax account number) and your payment card details. You can use your bank debit card or credit card to pay online: Visa, MasterCard, Visa Delta, Switch, Solo and Electron are all accepted. CashiersThe Council's Cashiers are dedicated to providing a prompt, polite and efficient service in Witney, at the Town Centre Shop, and in Chipping Norton, at the Guildhall. The cashiers serve customers who visit the offices, process payments received through the post and payments made over the telephone using debit and credit cards. The hours of opening are:
