Allowances for District Councillors

The Council is required by Government Regulations to set allowances for Council Members for the performance of their duties as a Councillor and, in doing so, has to take into account the recommendations of an Independent Remuneration Panel.

Independent Panel Reports, the Allowances Scheme, and Allowances Payments

details of the Council's actual scheme of allowances for 2007/2008 and for 2008/2009
details of allowances payments made to Councillors in the financial years 2004/2005 to 2007/2008 inclusive

The recommendations for the financial year 2008-2009 (effective from 1 April) were considered and approved by the Council at its meeting on 16 January 2008.
