The Council is committed to equality of opportunity and freedom from discrimination, and has a legal duty to exercise leadership in the promotion of equality of opportunity and diversity. We will therefore promote equality and challenge all forms of discrimination through our role as a service provider, community leader and local employer. The following policies and schemes have been adopted.
The Council has an 'Equality Group' comprising of representatives from its services, whose role is to raise the Equality Standard of the Council. If you would like to know more about the Council's Equality plans please call the 'Equality Co-ordinator' on 01993 861203.
Pictured: Registered blind, Graham Kiff, of Witney, is the Triathlon World Champion 2008 (athlete with a disability race). Graham has been supported with one of our £250 Sports Achievement Awards and help with access to the swimming pool at the Windrush Leisure Centre.
