Elections in 2014
The next elections scheduled in West Oxfordshire are for the European Parliament, and for 16 seats on the District Council, and all the seats on 16 Town and Parish Councils. These will take place in May or June 2014, but the precise date is not yet known.

Electoral cycle - District, Town and Parish Councils
The District Council has 49 seats and elections are by thirds. See the Electoral cycle download for more information about which seats are up for election in which years.

Cycle of other elections
Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections - the next election will be in May 2016, and then every four years.
Parliamentary (General) elections have not previously taken place on fixed dates, but the government has passed legislation which creates fixed dates for general elections, subject to certain circumstances where an election can take place sooner than expected. Under the new law, the next general election will take place on Thursday 7th May 2015.
Oxfordshire County Council - the next Oxfordshire County Council elections will take place in May 2017.
European parliamentary elections take place every five years. The next elections will be in May or June 2014. West Oxfordshire District and the Witney Constituency are part of the South East Region for European elections. The region has 10 MEPs.
