Future electionsElections in May 2012On Thursday 3 May 2012 there will be elections for 17 seats on West Oxfordshire District Council, and also for all 140 seats on 19 Town and Parish Councils in the District. Electoral cycle - District, Town and Parish CouncilsThe District Council has 49 seats and elections are by thirds. See the Electoral cycle download for more information about future elections. Other electionsPolice and Crime Commissioner elections - the first elections for a Police and Crime Commissioner for the Thames Valley Police area elections will take place on Thursday 15 November 2012. Further information is available from the Home Office website. Parliamentary (General) elections have not previously taken place on fixed dates, but the government has passed legislation which creates fixed dates for general elections, subject to certain circumstances where an election can take place sooner than expected. Under the new law, the next general election will take place on Thursday 7th May 2015. Oxfordshire County Council - the next Oxfordshire County Council elections take place in May 2013. European parliamentary elections take place every five years. The next elections are due in June 2014. West Oxfordshire District and the Witney Constituency are part of the South East Region for European elections. The region has 10 MEPs. Contact us
