Electoral Registration

The Annual Registration Process (Canvass)

The annual process of updating the electoral register is now underway, and will result in the publication of a new Register of Electors (voters) on 1st December 2008.

Householders can register using a 24 hour Freephone service or via the Internet provided they are confirming existing details (names) and/or (i) changing the "opt-out" preferences of persons registered at their address; and/or (ii) requesting an application to vote by post. The Freephone number and the website address are included on the Form being delivered to all properties, and callers will need that Form when they call the Freephone number or access the website because it contains an individual security reference.

It is also possible to confirm names by Text message, with the text being charged at the standard rate of your provider.

If you have your Form to hand and wish to confirm that there are no changes to your details, visit the registration website at http://www.registerbyinternet.com/westoxon/.

More information about many aspects of the annual update process are contained in the Electoral Registration Help Notes. This is a file download, and you will need acrobat reader installed on your PC to be able to open it. The program is a free download available from Acrobat Reader

Please read the notes in paragraph 1 of the help notes before printing the document.

If you have any queries that aren't answered in the Help Notes please contact Electoral Services - details below.

Please help us to keep costs down by responding promptly once you have received the Form at your household.
