New waste and recycling collectionsNew and improved waste and recycling collections are starting at the end of November 2010, including:
See our online gallery for more information of what the new service will look like. The new service will make recycling as easy as possible for you and is expected to almost double the district's current recycling rate of 34% within the first year. Food and garden waste will be recycled in addition to the items that you put out for collection in your black recycling boxes. What happens now... Your existing black wheelie bin will become your garden waste bin when the new service starts in late November. Please sign up now to receive this service. If you do not want garden waste collections, we will collect your black wheelie bin for reuse elsewhere. Please wait until your new light grey wheelie bin is delivered before contacting us to arrange removal of an unwanted bin. Your bin collection day may change - we will contact you with more information before the service begins. Please continue as normal with your collections until that time. Waste and recycling advisors are hosting waste and recycling roadshows around the district to explain the new service. Please follow the links above (see bullet points) for more information about the new service. Alternatively, call 01993 861025.
