Environment survey

An Environment Survey was carried out in September 2007 to establish residents views on their local environment and on the Council's environmental services. A comprehensive Environmental Survey Report was produced from which the following key points have been taken:

91% of residents were satisfied with the state of the local environment;
Residents felt that the Council was best at providing waste and recycling services and looking after local parks and open areas;
Residents felt the areas requiring the most improvement included tackling anti-social behaviour and continuing to improve cleanliness of the local environment;
Residents were most concerned with the levels of litter, poorly maintained vegetation and over-development.

The findings from the survey will help the Council to revise its Environmental Management Strategy to maintain and enhance the quality of the local environment for the future.
