Home Improvement Agency - Small Repairs Service

The Small Repairs Service helps older and disabled people to live independently in their own homes by organising and carrying out alterations such as:

minor plumbing repairs and carpentry
door and window repairs
fitting window locks, door locks and door chains
hanging curtain rails, pictures & shelving
supplying and fitting key safes, smoke detectors and light bulbs
minor adaptations such as hand rails - inside and out
small access ramps and steps

The service is for home owners and private tenants over the age of 60 or with a disability. Advice is free, although any work carried out will cost £18.00 an hour plus materials used. We will not do work that is the responsibility of a landlord.

The Council's HIA Small Repairs Service is a member of the Buy with Confidence scheme which means it has been vetted and approved by Trading Standards to ensure that it operates in a legal, honest and fair way. The service works in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council, Fire and Rescue Service and Thames Valley Police.
