Household waste and recycling centres (rubbish tips)

Oxfordshire County Council manages a number of waste and recycling centres (usually located at landfill sites) for the recycling and disposal of refuse by householders. Household refuse may be disposed of free of charge; although a charging policy is in place for large-scale D.I.Y items. Up to three items of D.I.Y waste may be disposed of for free.  A charge of £1 per item will be levied for subsequent items. Tyres can be taken at a cost of £2.50 each.

Van and trailer permits for council tips
From 1 November 2010, Oxfordshire County Council are introducing a permit scheme for householders using a commercial-type vehicle (such as a van or trailer 1.8m to 3m in length) at Waste and Recycling Centres (council tips).

Permits will be required from 1 November 2010 and can be applied for from 16 August onwards. For more information call 08450 504550 or visit Oxfordshire County Council's website and search for 'van and trailer permits.'

A charge is made for the disposal of commercial waste.
