What the Council is doing to save water

  • The Elmfield Office building uses water butts to collect rainwater which is used in the building's toilet systems. The taps in the bathrooms turn themselves off.
  • 'Save a flush' devices have been installed in toilets in other Council buildings
  • Washing Council vehicles and equipment is limited to that required for health and safety and legal reasons to save water
  • Encouraging our major partners to implement water saving measures
