Recycling Books

Spread the word...
Recycle your books so that they can be enjoyed all over again by someone else!

Book banks have been put in place at six of the recycling centres across West Oxfordshire, so that books can be recycled alongside textiles, shoes, plastics, cans, paper, cardboard and glass. In addition to books, videos, cds, dvds and pc/videos games can also be placed in the banks.

  • Guildenford Road car park, Burford
  • Co-op, Black Bourton Road, Carterton
  • New Street car park, Chipping Norton
  • Back Lane car park, Eynsham
  • Sainsbury's, Witan Way, Witney
  • Welch Way car park, Witney

Paper and hard-backed books are accepted in the Salvation Army book banks. Good quality books are then resold, whilst other books may be sent abroad to help education programmes. Paperback books unsuitable for resale will be recycled into newsprint.
