Energy Efficiency

United Sustainable Energy Authority

West Oxfordshire District Council has a responsibility to encourage a reduction in both energy use and the emission of greenhouse gases, now widely accepted as a prime cause of climate change. To help, the Council has partnered up with the United Sustainable Energy Agency which operates the region's Energy Saving Trust advice centre. This offers impartial and expert advice on saving energy, generating your own energy and travelling with lower carbon emissions. Simply call free on 0800 512 012 to speak to an Energy Advisor.

United Sustainable Energy Agency also manages Cocoon, an insulation price comparison service. This independent price comparison service provides estimates from at least two insulation installers plus details of any council and government grants for which you may be eligible. To start saving, call 0800 8048 777 (lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm).

Discover the energy rating of your home

The average UK household could save hundreds of pounds a year by being more energy efficient. Do a quick Home Energy Check to find out where you could save energy. This will reveal how energy efficient your home is on a scale of A-G. The most energy efficient homes, which should have the lowest fuel bills, are in bands A-C. The instant report will suggest ways to lower your fuel bills and improve your home's rating.

Renewable Energy Guides

The Council's Planning department has produced  renewable and low carbon energy guides on small scale wind turbines and solar thermal hot water collectors.
