Energy saving and affordable warmth

Keeping Warm this winter.  Practical and financial help available.

If your home loses heat, not only will you be wasting money but you'll be wasting energy as well.

Several countywide organisations have come together to provide the following practical help for people in need:

  • Refurbishments for households vulnerable to the cold (over 60's and other vulnerable groups)
  • Delivery of additional benefit entitlement checks
  • Free membership to an oil bulk-buying scheme for up to 250 households
  • Provision of 'Fuel Vouchers' & Food Boxes
  • Specialist energy advice
  • Talks and events for relevant groups (WI's, over 60's social groups, young parents, community groups, etc.)

A leaflet has been produced summarising help available and the project has a dedicated telephone support line to provide advice and help: 0844 887 0005.

  • Energy efficiency to keep bills down
  • Discounted insulation - West Oxon £99 Deal (see below)

Keep your home warm and cut your energy costs

The first step to reducing heating bills is to stop warmth escaping. Keep your home warm and cut energy costs by getting cavity wall and loft insulation fitted for the discounted price of just £99* each - normally £150 to £500.

Working with Cocoon, we are offering this reduced price to residents who own their own home or rent privately. If you are 70 or over, or receive certain benefits, you may get the work done for free depending on your existing insulation.

By taking advantage of this offer, you could make your money back in energy savings in only 12 months and continue to save money on heating costs year after year.

For further information visit:

  • Cocoon online or
  • Call 0800 8048777 quoting the 'West Oxon Deal' (lines open Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm).

*You may have to pay more if your property is larger than average for the number of bedrooms or if access is difficult or extra vents are required.
