How do I pay?

Payment of the Fixed Penalty Notice (or Parking Fine) is £70.  If you pay within 14 days of the date of the Notice the amount payable is reduced to £35.  There is no reduction allowed for parking in a parent and child bay without a child in the vehicle or in a designated Disabled space without being able to produce a valid Disabled Badge.

You may pay your Fixed Penalty Notice charge online using a debit or credit card.

Telephone Payment

We provide an automated telephone payments service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 01993 861045.
All you need is your fixed penalty notice details and your payment card details. You can use your bank debit card or credit card to pay: Visa, MasterCard, Visa Delta, Switch, Solo and Electron are all accepted.

Postal Payment                            

Payment can be made by cheque or postal order, made payable to West Oxfordshire District Council and crossed "Account Payee Only" and sent to Town Centre Shop, 3 Welch Way, Witney, Oxfordshire OX28 6JH. 

Payment in Person

Cash payment can be made at the Town Centre Shop in person only and between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday or between 9.00am and 4.30pm on Fridays.

Can I appeal against the issue of a Fixed Penalty Notice?

If you have received a Fixed Penalty Notice that you think was issued incorrectly, you must appeal in writing within 14 days of the issue of the Notice.  You must include the serial number of the Notice and the grounds on which you contest the Notice.  Your case will be strengthened if you can provide documentary evidence to support your appeal.

You may appeal on-line by completing an online form.

You may also appeal by letter or fax to:

If your reason for appeal is rejected, and you submitted the appeal within 14 days of the notice being issued, a further period of 14 days will be allowed for payment at the discounted rate of £35.  If payment is not made within the 14 days, payment will revert to the full amount of £70.

If I am not satisfied with the appeal decision, can I request a review?  

If you are dissatisfied with the appeal decision, you may make representation to the Council's Chief Executive.  If your reason for representation is rejected, and you submitted initial appeal within 14 days of the notice being issued, a further period of 14 days will be allowed for payment at the discounted rate of £35.  If payment is not made within the 14 days, payment will revert to the full amount of £70.
