Flood reports and reviews

After the July 2007 floods the Council carried out a full strategic flood review and produced the following reports:

The Final Flood Report
Produced in December 2008, this is a culmination of an in-depth investigation by the Council into the summer 2007 floods, which affected more than 1,600 homes and 72 businesses in the District. It pulls together all the key information, a summary of actions taken to date and, most importantly, a programme of works for the future. As well as outlining the Council's responsibilities regarding flooding and mitigation work, the report also highlights the responsibilities of other key agencies, such as the Environment Agency, Oxfordshire County Council and Thames Water.

The Interim flood report, produced in January 2008, outlined the emergency response, the recovery, and what is being done to prevent future flooding along with further steps to be implemented. This was a vital component in the full Strategic Flood Review.

Follow the links below to view each individual report. To try and reduce file sizes on the web, the reports have been divided into a Main Report and a separate document containing the Maps and Glossary.  Both documents should be read in conjunction with one another for each Parish or Town.

As the reports are designed to be dynamic, they may be revised to accommodate the results of the existing and future consultations. We will always ensure the latest version of all our reports are available on our website.

Please note that some of these files are large. It is not recommended that you attempt to download it if you have 'dial-up' or slow internet access.

Environment Agency: Flood Reviews 2007
The Environment Agency has investigated options to improve the level of flood protection and have produced the following reports. Their studies aim to outline the extent of the recent floods, record the damage and document the response. Opportunities for any improvements that could reduce flood risk for local residents and businesses will be investigated:
