RecyclingSome items of waste are unavoidable or unsuitable for re-use. Please make use of our weekly recycling collection. In West Oxfordshire we are currently recycling and composting 23% of our waste, this means over 9000 tonnes of waste are diverted from landfill.
Two free recycling boxes are available to all householders within West Oxfordshire. Recycling collections are weekly, the same day as the wheeled bin refuse collection. You can find the day of your weekly collection by searching on the My West Oxfordshire page. Yellow Pages cannot be currently collected from the kerbside. Please make use of our Yellow Pages recycling scheme during August and September each year. Tetra Paks (liquid food and drinks containers e.g. juice cartons) also cannot be collected from the kerbside. However, these can be taken to a number of recycling banks or your local Waste and Recycling Centre where there are facilities to collect these for recycling. Composting is also a form of recycling that turns garden and food waste into something useful for your garden. Compost your garden and kitchen waste.
Book recycling: find out where you can recycle your books so that they can be enjoyed all over again by someone else! CD Recycling: learn about the recycling process for CDs and where to send old or unwanted CDs. Paint is no longer collected at any Oxfordshire County Council Waste and Recycling Centres (including Dean and Dix Pits). However, three new RePaint outlets have opened up in Oxfordshire.
