Recycling banks

Recycling banks are located at a number of sites within the District for the collection of glass, paper, cans, card, plastics, books, textiles, shoes and in some locations Tetra Paks!*

Where are my nearest recycling banks?
Click here for an up-to-date list of where your nearest recycling banks are and what they can recycle.
* Please note that some recycling banks can only take a limited number of materials.

(Household Waste and Recycling Centres run by Oxfordshire County Council also take materials for recycling).

Using recycling banks (some helpful tips)

  1. Try to plan your trip to the recycling centre along with other errands such as shopping trips or school runs.
  2. Junk mail and glossy magazines may be deposited in the paper banks.
  3. BT telephone directories may be deposited in paper banks, but not Yellow Pages.
  4. Please do not use paper banks for cardboard or tissue paper.
  5. Please rinse bottles, jars and cans before taking them to the recycling centre.
  6. Both food and drink cans may be deposited in can banks.
  7. Please put items made from blue glass in the green glass bank.
  8. Please do not deposit window glass, light bulbs, pyrex cooking dishes or drinking glasses.
  9. Always take refillable bottles (such as milk bottles) back to the supplier.
  10. Please do not leave behind cardboard boxes or plastic bags used to bring materials to the recycling centre.
  11. Please do not use the recycling centres late at night as you may disturb local residents.
  12. If the recycling banks are full, please try again another time.

If you leave recycling or other waste lying around the banks this is classed as fly-tipping.
Fly-tipping of commercial or household waste is contrary to Section 33: Environmental Act 1990 and offenders will be prosecuted.
