Waste and recycling centres (tips)You can take household rubbish to a waste and recycling centre provided by Oxfordshire County Council. Disposal is free; but there is a charge for large-scale DIY items and items such as tyres cost £2.50 each. Locations in West Oxfordshire

Materials recycled include household batteries, car batteries, electrical and electronic equipment, plastics, soil, rubble, green waste, cardboard, paper, light bulbs, sheet glass, fluorescent tubes, glass, metals, foil, cans, engine oil, timber and textiles. Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)Anything with electrical or electronic parts, from old toasters and stereos through to washing machines, can be taken to your nearest waste and recycling centre. Here they will be reclaimed for refurbishment or recycling, reducing the amount going to landfill. This is a free service to you as the manufacturer of the equipment will pay for its collection and treatment. Alternatively, you can order a bulky household waste collection for which a charge will be made. To request a collection please call 01993 861025.
