Oxfordshire County Council manages a number of waste and recycling centres (usually located at landfill sites) for the recycling and disposal of refuse by householders. Household refuse may be disposed of free of charge; although a charging policy is in place for large-scale D.I.Y items. Up to three items of D.I.Y waste may be disposed of for free. A charge of £1 per item will be levied for subsequent items. Tyres can be taken at a cost of £2.50 each.
A charge is made for the disposal of commercial waste.

Paint.
Paint is no longer collected at any Oxfordshire County Council household waste and recycling centres including Dean and Dix Pits. However, three new RePaint outlets have opened up in Oxfordshire where you can take any useable paint you have left. In addition to the Orinoco Scrapstore in Oxford, you may now get paint/take paint from: the OCVA furniture store in Northway, Oxford; Berinsfiled Employment Action Group, Berinsfield and Oxford Wood Recycling, Milton Park, Abingdon / Didcot.
Please visit www.oxorinoco.org for further information and details of what types of paint are accepted.
