Can I register on the Housing Waiting List?

Answer
Any person may register unless they are,

- ineligible due to their immigration status or
- they are not 'habitually resident' in the UK or
- they are disqualified by reasons of unacceptable behaviour.

Additional preference may be given to rehousing persons who have a local connection with the District because;

- They are or have been resident in the District in the past.
- They are employed in the District.
- Because of family associations.
- Because of Special Circumstances, such as homelessness or need to move into the District to give or receive Support.

Residence means occupation of permanent accommodation and does not normally include,

- occupation of a caravan that is not on a licensed residential site or
- occupation of a holiday letting, hotel or
- bed and breakfast establishment

To apply you should complete an application form 'Application for accommodation in West Oxfordshire', which you can request from the Publications section of the site or by contacting Housing Services. You should indicate on the application form whether you wish to rent or buy on a shared ownership basis
