Frequently asked questions

Question
When will my Transfer Application be considered?

Answer
Applications are considered in order according to housing need, the registration date and the areas of choice and the type of housing that is suitable for your housing needs. Priority is given to rehousing Applicants with the highest level of points and additional preference maybe given to rehousing persons who have a local connection with the District. Priority is given to rehousing those Applicants with the most points.

Transfer applications may not be considered unless your present landlord is satisfied that you are not breaking any conditions of tenancy and you are paying your rent satisfactorily.

The demand for vacancies in some areas particularly Witney and Carterton is very high and applicants may have to wait long periods before being considered.

Applicants should choose a wide a choice of areas as possible to give an application better prospects of consideration when vacancies do arise.

As it is not possible to give an indication when it will be possible to consider an application your best prospects of moving may well be to try and find another tenant with whom to arrange a mutual exchange.
