Council Tax - I'm moving, what information do you need?

Answer
You can fill in our Inform us of a move form to easily provide us with all the details. The form can be found in the Online Services section of this website.

The details we will need to know from you include;

* the full address of the property
* the names of all liable parties
* the date you, and others, moved out of your previous property
* the date you, and others, moved into your new property
* whether the property is furnished or unfurnished

When we receive this information from you, or when we are notified that the occupancy of a property has changed, you will be sent a Council Tax enquiry form asking for details of the occupiers to open up the new account and ensure any discounts you are entitled to are applied to your new account.

Once we have received all the necessary information and your account has been set up you will be sent a bill to show the amount owing on the property and your instalment plan.

The bill will also show your Billing Number which you should make a note of and be ready to quote anytime you contact us.
