Navigating the Website The Site Directory, My West Oxfordshire and the Publications Listing are available on the left hand side of every page and the A to Z, Site Map, Accessibility, Contact us and Search are available from the top of every page. The 6 main areas of the website are available from all the pages. To assist with moving between pages there is a trail at the top of each page which starts with 'You are here' and enables you to see the path you have taken and to revisit previous pages. If you have any comments or feedback about the website, please complete a Website Feedback Form. If you have any problem accessing any information on the site, please complete the Report a Problem with our Website form. There are 5 main ways that you can find information on this website: 1. The home page This is a good place to start browsing the site for information. To return to the home page, just click on the word Home in the menu on the left hand side or on the breadcrumb trail. 2. Search The Search can be found in the top right hand corner of every page. Simply type in a few key words and click on the Find arrow. On the Home page there is a Site search in the left hand side column which allows you to specify the types of documents to search. 3. Site Directory Click on one of the main sections displayed under Site Directory in the left hand side column, for example Environment to see the information that's available in the section. 4. A to Z The A to Z can be accessed from the top of every page and appears in the left hand side column of the Home Page. It lists all the main services provided by West Oxfordshire District Council in alphabetical order. Simply click on the initial letter of the service you require, for example if you are looking for information on Tourism click on the letter T. 5. Site map The Site Map can be accessed from the top of every page. It lists all the pages available on the website and can be useful to scan. Printing from the Website When you print a page from this website the page navigation links and search will not be included so more space is left for the content. Downloading Files from the Website All downloadable documents on this website are in Adobe Acrobat PDF format and you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print them. This is free software and can be downloaded from Adobe's website. Transactional Features of the Website There are a range of transactions that you can carry out via this website including paying bills, requesting Council services and applying for Planning permission. e-GMS Compliance and Standard Categories Work is currently underway to ensure that this website has the correct metadata on each page. Metadata is abstract information about each page and can be viewed in each page's source view. All metadata being implemented is fully compliant with the e-Government metadata standards (e-GMS) and Dublin Core. We have implemented the new standard way of categorising council services on websites so that it in future it will be possible to carry out multiple searches on more than one website.
