The skills and experience required for the various job roles can be summarised as follows
Professional, Technical & Managerial - previous work in the relevant field is usually essential and is supported by a relevant professional qualification or degree. Other important skills may include the ability to supervise others, manage and prioritise workloads, work on own initiative along with proven problem solving and decision making.
Administration - good communication skills, customer service and keyboard skills are important. The ability to use Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is usually an advantage and some positions may require additional skills such as audio typing and minute taking. Previous experience and /or qualifications are often required.
Environmental Cleansing Operatives & Landscape Maintenance Operatives - Working in our Cleansing and Landscape Maintenance teams is ideal for anyone who enjoys working outdoors. For these positions we seek people who are able to work as part of a team travelling around the district. Due to the physical nature of the work, staff are required to be physically fit and be flexible in their approach to work and hours. Previous experience is not essential, as full training is given. These positions are quite often advertised in our town centre shop.
