News Centre22 Sep 2008 (archived) Flood Protection Fair - 9 October 2008Residents whose homes and businesses have been flooded can find out what is being done and what future action they can take to protect their property at a Flood Protection Fair on 9 October from 2.30 - 6.30pm at the Windrush Leisure Centre, Witney. The trade fair of flood defence products, ideas, advice and solutions is free to attend and you will be able to:
The fair is being held as part of the Thames Valley Flood Awareness Week (6-12 October) and supported by West Oxfordshire District Council, the Environment Agency, the National Flood Forum, Thames Valley Police, and local Fire and Rescue Services.
West Oxfordshire District Council has produced individual Parish flood reports for each parish. This will help them identify the causes of flooding, who is responsible, what work is being carried out, what the potential options are for future mitigation and who might fund such schemes. back to what's new listing |
