Marriotts art competition

It is now the turn for secondary school age students to help brighten up the large hoardings surrounding the Marriotts Close development site in Witney. Students are invited to send in their artwork and short listed entries will be enlarged and exhibited on public display.

The closing date is 22 October 2008.

The theme is 'West Oxfordshire life', which can be interpreted broadly to give as much freedom as possible. For example it can be

looking back, present day or futuristic;
a favourite building(s) or place(s) in the district;
a vision of the new development or one of its features which includes a multi-screen cinema, shops, restaurants, parking, a recreational area and homes.

Primary Schools
The first phase of the competition for primary schools has now closed. We received over 120 posters and a shortlist of the best can be seen enlarged on the hoardings along Woodford Way.

Prizes
In addition to having artwork on public display, the Simons Group is donating a cash prize to each primary and secondary school category winner as well as an individual prize.
