News Centre23 Sep 2008 (archived) Camping spaces for gypsies, travellers and travelling showpeopleA public exhibition is to be held at Oxford Town Hall on the South East England Regional Assembly's (SEERA) consultation on the provision of camping spaces for Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople. SEERA is seeking views on the future provision of places for Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople in the South East. This is part of a process of updating the South East Plan - the 20 year plan for the region - to see how many 'camping spaces' or pitches should be provided in each council's area. This is required to meet Government requirements. The consultation runs until 21st November. To help SEERA's consultation at the local level, the local authorities in Oxfordshire are hosting a public exhibition over two days to be held at Oxford Town Hall, St.Aldates, Oxford, on the following dates:
The exhibition will set out the main issues on which SEERA is seeking your views. This includes different options on where camping spaces might be provided across the South East region, including in Oxfordshire. The consultation material is available to view on SEERA's web site.back to what's new listing |
