News Centre29 Sep 2008 (archived) Flood Awareness Month - October 2008Following the flooding in Oxfordshire the council is supporting Flood Awareness Month throughout October 2008. The campaign, organised by the Environment Agency, and supported by the National Flood Forum, the emergency services and councils in the Thames Valley region, aims to provide advice and information for people who have been affected by, or are at risk of flooding. Flood Protection Product Fairs These events will bring together a variety of flood protection ideas, products and services as well as help and information for those people who have been affected by, or are at risk of flooding. A Fair was held in Witney on Thursday 9 October and there are a number of similar fairs throughout Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. Information stands There are also a number of Flood Awareness stands in selected councils in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. These will provide information about who does what in a flood and leaflets about flooding. The Flood awareness information fact sheets give more details.
