Tourism strategyConsultation and research is currently being undertaken to decide the future direction of tourism for West Oxfordshire. Once this work is completed, preparation of the new Oxfordshire Cotswolds Tourism Strategy will begin. Tourism is worth an estimated £221.4m to the economy of West Oxfordshire each year and supports direct and indirectly the equivalent of over 4,000 full time jobs. Working with the local tourism industry and numerous partners both public and private sector, the role of West Oxfordshire Tourism, the tourism service of West Oxfordshire District Council, is to promote West Oxfordshire as a visitor destination, at the same time managing the effects of tourism in West Oxfordshire to maximise the positive and minimise the negative impacts generated through tourism activity. |
