Coach & Sports Person of the Year

The Sport and Leisure Development team annually recognises the contribution and commitment of individuals across the district through the following awards:

Coach of the Year

The Coach of the Year award recognises an individual who has made a significant impact to the players in their club, organisation or community.

Criteria for this award include:

All nominees must reside or be actively coaching in West Oxfordshire.
Nominees must be above 16 years of age.
Nominees must be coaching within a club, organisation or community.
Nominees must have been coaching for more than 12 months.
Applications will only be considered for coaches working voluntary or receiving part time paid work. Full time coaches who have been nominated will be rejected.

Coach of the Year 2007 - Gareth Lewis (Witney Rugby Football Club)

Sports Person of the Year

The Sports Person of the Year award recognises individuals who have made a significant impact within their chosen sport by giving up time to develop and help others within their club, organisation or community.

Criteria for this award include:

All nominees must reside or be actively involved within a sport club, organisation or community within in West Oxfordshire.
There is no age limit to this particular award.
Nominees must have been actively involved with a sports club, organisation or community for more than 12 months.
Nominations will only be considered for individuals working voluntary or receiving part time paid work. Full time paid individuals who have been nominated will be rejected.
