Play partners

The Council recognises the importance of play, supporting a number of key voluntary sector organisations, grant aiding them through Service Level Agreements. These organisations are:

  • Oxfordshire Children's Information Service (OCIS)
    OCIS provide information about: childcare and child-related services (registered childminders, nurseries, pre-school groups, toddler groups, holiday playschemes and interest groups); Working Tax Credits and other benefits; childminder and daycare registration. Telephone 0845 262636.
  • Oxfordshire Play Association (OPA)
    OPA promotes play for all children and young people throughout Oxfordshire. OPA can offer training, play boxes, payroll and insurance services. OPA is also managing the West Oxfordshire Play Rangers project. Telephone 01865 779474.
  • Oxfordshire Playbus
    Oxfordshire Playbus run sessions on converted buses in order to help children and families who would otherwise be living in isolation. Onboard, there are opportunities to play together, participate in arts and crafts, make friends and have fun. There is also a sensory bus which brings the fun and benefits of a multi-sensory environment to disabled children and people with Alzheimers.   • Oxfordshire Playing Fields Association (OPFA)
    OPFA provide information and advice relating to playing fields and playground equipment. Telephone 01865 883488.
