Shaping Futures - Sustainable Community Strategy

Shaping Futures sets out a shared 10-year vision for West Oxfordshire, and it reflects what local people have told us is important to them and to the district. It has been produced by the West Oxfordshire Strategic Partnership (WOSP).

Our vision - West Oxfordshire: one of the best places to live, work and visit.

Launched in November 2008, following a wide range of evidence gathering and consultation, Shaping Futures sets out how organisations in West Oxfordshire will work together to achieve identified common aims. It provides our future hopes for West Oxfordshire as a place, identifies priorities we can work on together and sets out how we will tackle some of the more difficult issues. It concentrates on those areas where we can work together to really add value and make a difference.

Shaping Futures helps to inform the future planning of the area, as set out in the Local Development Framework (LDF). The close link between Shaping Futures and the LDF will make sure community and spatial planning in the district is well coordinated in the future.

Oxfordshire 2030

Shaping Futures also reflects the main aims for the district that are outlined in Oxfordshire 2030, the Sustainable Community Strategy for the county prepared by the Oxfordshire Partnership.
