Changes to the health serviceWe are working with partners on the proposed changes to the health service. This includes the removal of Primary Care Trusts (NHS Oxfordshire) and Strategic Health Authorities, handing over responsibility for commissioning health services to GP Commissioning Consortia. In Oxfordshire, this will be an overarching county wide consortia with six geographically based sub groups. Public health will become the responsibility of local authorities, primarily county councils, as will setting up of new Health & Wellbeing Boards.
