Shared Ownership and Discount Market Housing Homes for sale

 

This page has details of current resales and new sales of Shared Ownership (Part Rent/Part Buy) homes in the District.

There is currently two properties currently available for resale.

Chipping Norton

A 2 bedroomed coach house which has been valued at £175,000.  Applicants will need to be able to purchase at least 60% of the value which is £105,000.  A rent of £203.06 per month will then be payable on the remainder.

Preference may be given to people who have a local connection with West Oxfordshire.  Existing Housing Association tenants can apply as well as new applicants.

Witney

A 1 bedroomed first floor flat which has been valued at £144,000.  Applicants will need to be able to purchase at least 50% of the value which is £72,000.  A rent of £218.58 will then be payable on the remainder.

Preference may be given to people who have a local connection with West Oxfordshire.  Existing Housing Association tenants can apply as well as new applicants.

There is currently seven new shared ownership properties and four new Discount Market Housing properties available for sale.

Witney

2x1 bedroomed flats which have been valued at £122,000.  Applicants will need to be able to purchase at least 40% of the value which is £48,800.  A monthly rent will then be payable on the remainder.

2x1 bedroomed flats which have been valued at £125,000.  Applicants will need to be able to purchase at least 40% of the value which is £50,000.  A monthly rent will then be payable on the remainder.

2x3 bedroomed houses which are for sale on a Discount Market Housing basis.  Discount Market Housing is a scheme that allows you to purchase a property at a fixed percentage of the open market value, which in this case is 70%.  The open market value are £210,000 and £215,000 and the discount market value is £147,000 and £150,500.

2x1 bedroomed flats which are for sale on Discount Market Housing basis.   Discount Market Housing is a scheme that allows you to purchase a property at a fixed percentage of the open market value, which in this case is 70%.  The open market value is £120,000 and the discount market value is £84,000.

With the scheme you own the freehold but you can only ever receive the original percentage of the market value when you sell.  You will need to have a mortgage offer for the discount market value in order to proceed.

Carterton

1 bedroomed flat which has been valued at £137,500.  Applicants will need to be able to purchase at least 40% of the value which is £55,000.  A rent of £171.88 will then be payable on the remainder.  In addition there is a service charge of £79.73 per month.

1 bedroomed flat which has been valued at £142,500.  Applicants will need to be able to purchase at least 40% of the value which is £57,000.  A rent of £178.13 will then be payable on the remainder.  In addition there is a service charge of £79.73 per month.

Preference may be given to people who have a local connection with West Oxfordshire.  Existing Housing Association tenants can apply as well as new applicants.

Fritillary Mews, Ducklington

A 2 bedroomed house which has been valued at £205,000.  Applicants will need to be able to purchase at least 40% of the value which is £82,000.  A rent  of £179.38 per month will then be payable on the remainder.  In addition there is a service charge of around £12.58 per month. 

Preference may be given to people who have a local connection with West Oxfordshire.  Existing Housing Association tenants can apply as well as new applicants.
