There are 34 CCTV cameras positioned in car parks, shopping centres (Marriotts Walk and the Woolgate Centre) and at strategic locations around Witney.
All cameras record in colour and can function during the hours of darkness. They have been selected to blend in with the environment and town centre architecture.
The cameras are monitored by Thames Valley Police, from the Police Station in Welch Way 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Members of the town's business radio link keep in contact with the control centre through their own radio system.
The system is operated under a strict code of practice and within the Human Rights and Data Protection Acts.
