November 2008 Neighbourhood Specialist Officer PC Richard Conner provides this month's update: "October has seen the continuing theft of copper and lead from schools and business premises, could I ask the community to keep an eye on the above and report anything suspicious. Woodstock and Bladon "We had the Street Fair in Woodstock from Monday 6 to Wednesday 8 October. PCSO Phil Workman liaised with the organisers to remove vehicles that were parked on site after the deadline. On the whole the event ran smoothly but a female was arrested later for an assault that occurred on the Monday night. She was given a police caution. "Between Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 October a blue hatchback was broken into overnight in Churchill Close. "Roads Policing carried out an operation on Thursday 23 October in Bladon. Two £60 tickets were issued for excess speed. Freeland and Hanborough "Between Sunday 19 and Monday 20 October a red Fiesta had its number plates stolen in Broadmarsh Lane. Stonesfield "The SID was out in the village in Woodstock Road on Tuesday 7 October. 108 vehicles were checked and 10 vehicles were over the limit. "A silver mountain bike was stolen behind the village hall on Friday 17 October between 7.30pm - 10.15pm. Tackley and Brougham "There has been damage caused to the playing fields by a car being driven across them between Friday 10 and Sunday 12 October. If you know who it was, please contact us." Neighbourhood Action Group News "We are still looking for new members for the Woodstock Neighbourhood Action Group. If you are interested or would like to know more speak to one of the team. "At the last meeting it was decided to carry out a detailed survey with local youths about the new priority that has been raised in the engagement. The NAG youth members will be speaking with Marlborough School pupils in the near future. "The next NAG meeting is on Wednesday 19 November at Woodstock police station when the new neighbourhood priorities will be discussed.
