What's happening in my neighbourhood?

Each month the Neighbourhood Specialist Officer delivers a report on what has been happening in the area.

May 2012

Neighbourhood Officer PC Gordon Richardson brings this month's news:

"A 29-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been charged with a burglary that occurred at the end of February in Shipton Road, Woodstock.

"At long last plans have been put forward by First Great Western to build a 197 space car park on the land formerly owned by Hewden Hire. Blenheim estates, who have purchased the site, are in discussions about converting the car park however the plans ride on First Great Western winning cash from a network rail grant pot.

"I can assure residents that I will do all that I can to put forward a strong case from a police perspective as the amount of vehicles that are now parking at the side of the road has reached more than an unacceptable level. As can be seen from the photograph there is very little space left at the side of the road for any more vehicles and the sooner extra parking is found the better.

"Over the past few weeks we have received a number of complaints across the neighbourhood of dogs running around out of control, off leads and frightening livestock. Often incidents take place near to footpaths and bridleways where members of the public walk their dogs but they stray onto private land. Landowners are well within their rights to shoot dogs that worry or attack livestock. Please keep dogs on leads when walking near to livestock and ensure your dog is under control when walking on footpaths and other public locations.

"A reminder that you can follow the team on twitter @TVP_Woodstock as well as being able to email us at woodstockneighbourhood@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk or phone the non emergency number 101."
