Changes to concessionary travel scheme 2011
The Government has decided that responsibility for concessionary travel should move from District Councils to County Councils. With effect from 1 April 2011 Oxfordshire County Council will take over running the scheme. As a result of this change, travel tokens and railcards will be stopped and a free bus pass issued instead. We have notified all West Oxfordshire residents who previously opted to receive travel tokens that they have until 31 March 2012 to use their travel tokens. We will accept any travel tokens that you receive in return for services up until this date and pay you as we do now.
