Free Fare Bus Pass Scheme - Notification To Bus Operators

Section 149 of the Act requires the Council to seek the agreement of operators to proposals for the reimbursement of the cost of providing this concession. Section 150 of the Act requires the Council to publish its proposals at least 4 months in advance of any change to the scheme and to notify every operator affected by them.

West Oxfordshire District Council has decided to propose the following arrangements:-

Reimbursement will be calculated on the concessions given on eligible journeys where supported by a valid West Oxfordshire District Council bus pass. For this purpose operators will provide information on use either monthly or quarterly.

Reimbursement will be at a 'Reimbursement Factor' of 50.9%.

Where claims are made quarterly, a payment of 90% of the estimated amount payable for a quarter will be made half-way through that quarter, adjusted to the actual amount due by payment in the following quarter.

The Council will agree which journeys are eligible with operators.
