Neighbourhood Officer PC Phil Marstin delivers this month's update: "So just when we thought there was potentially going to be a summer long drought, this year's April showers have arrived with a vengeance. Can I please take this opportunity to remind drivers to check that their vehicles are capable of completing the intended journey and if you have valuables in the vehicle they are secured away? "Let us not forget the current state of the roads. Unfortunately there are new potholes cropping up all over the place, so please be careful when driving and report the holes to the highways department at Oxfordshire County Council. The recent high winds played havoc on Sunday 29 April causing trees to be uprooted blocking several roads. Police officers attended fallen trees in Middle Barton, Fawler, "There has been a spate of crimes involving catapults in and around the "Metal and bulk domestic fuel thefts are still a problem in the outlying villages and remote farms. These issues were discussed at the recent Neighbourhood Action Group meeting. As a result of this the neighbourhood priorities have been updated to include this. Numerous vehicles have been stopped and have had their loads and waste carriers licence checked to ensure that they comply with current legislation. If they don't then the offender receives a £300 fine." |
