Fraud

West Oxfordshire District Council's (WODC) benefit section has a dedicated Fraud team to prevent, detect and prosecute those making fraudulent applications.

Benefit fraud is a serious crime. Jon Dearing, Head of Revenues at WODC, says;

       

"Benefit fraud is a crime. It is theft from the taxpayer and the most disadvantaged, who could benefit more substantially from the total resources allocated if others did not choose to exploit the benefit system for their own gain"

           


A fraudulent application can be

If you suspect someone is fraudulently receiving benefits you can confidentially provide us with the information to help us investigate the application. This can be done using our online form or by calling our fraud hotline on 01993 861234.
