Non-dependants can be thought of as anyone who lives in your house on a non-commercial basis. Deductions are made on the amount you qualify for based on the number of non-dependants living with you. These amounts are available for viewing in the downloads section. People in your household who will not count as non-dependants are;
Any young person (defined as between 16 and 20 attending school or a further education college) Anyone living in your home on a commercial basis i.e. tenant, sub-tenant or border. |
