Heritage Support Grant

This grant provides financial support for museums and local history groups in the development of heritage opportunities in West Oxfordshire.

Amounts awarded

Grants awarded are between £100 and £500.

Deadline for applications

The deadline for applications is 30th April each year.

Criteria

  • This fund is to support organisations and groups, not individuals. 
  • Application is open to organisations involved in heritage.
  • Any applicant organisation or group must have a signed constitution and identified aims and objectives.
  • Applicants must have a bank/building society account in the name of the organisation.
  • The project must take place in West Oxfordshire or demonstrate benefit to the people of West Oxfordshire.
  • Museums applying for a Heritage Support Grant must be Registered or be able to demonstrate a commitment to gaining Accreditation.
  • Grants made are valid for up to 12 months from the date of the award.
  • Where West Oxfordshire District Council is the main funder of a project that results in a public exhibition, the exhibition must take place in the District in the first instance.
  • Applicants will need to demonstrate a financial need for grant funding from West Oxfordshire District Council.
  • Applicants will need to demonstrate that the public benefit of the award is accessible to all sectors of the community.

To digitally scan and preserve significant historical documents.

Chipping Norton Museum - £500
Assistance with rent.

Cogges Manor Farm Museum - £500
Purchase of moveable, promotional display boards.

Combe Mill Society - £500
To equip and fit out facilities for disabled visitors.

Ducklington Village History Group - £500
Publication of booklet detailing life in Victorian Ducklington.

Minster Lovell Historical Society - £400
Purchase of a digital projector.

Oxford Bus Museum Trust Ltd - £400
Purchase of a projector.

The Charlbury Society - £500
The restoration of local artefact - The Post Office Lamp (1892 - 1905)

Witney and District Museum - £458.25
Purchase of display boards.
