Higher Achievers Award (Arts)
This grant supports people achieving excellence in the arts in West Oxfordshire.
Amounts awarded
Grants awarded are between £300 and £1,500.
Deadline for applications
Applicants need to complete a HA1 Intention to Apply form, deadline 26th August each year. The deadline for full applications is 15th October each year.
Criteria
- Applicants must reside within West Oxfordshire. Students should have their home address in West Oxfordshire.
- Awards are made towards the costs of a specific activity, which can be shown to significantly help the applicant's personal development in their chosen field. The award may cover; equipment costs, travel expenses, accommodation costs, competition, exhibition or participation costs, specialist coaching or teaching fees, other similar expenditure or a combination of the above. On-going or regular expenditure cannot be used to contribute to these costs.
- Applicants will need to show that they are currently performing/exhibiting at a high level and achieving excellence in their selected art form and therefore any decision will be made in consideration of the following indicators -
1. General - Past awards and/or current ranking.
Examinations passed / Accreditations achieved.
2. Arts - Work recognised by Arts Council England SE.
Work supported with a personal reference from the HE Dean of Arts Faculty or recognised professional arts organisation or guild.
Selection/invited to exhibit or perform nationally or internationally.
- Applicants will need to demonstrate that they are pursuing or aiming to pursue the arts as their main activity in the longer term.
- The Award is only open to individuals.
- Applications will normally be received from people aged 14 years and above. However in exceptional circumstances applications from below this age limit may be considered (if you think this may apply to you please contact the Arts Development Officers to discuss this further).
