Outdoor Recreation & Play Facilities Grant

Grants are available to Town/Parish Councils, Playing Field Committees or Play Area Management Groups who are formally constituted to assist with the provision of outdoor recreation and play facilities within their community.

Amounts awarded

Grants will be awarded up to a maximum of 50% of the cost of purchase, installation and a post installation inspection. This will be limited to a maximum grant of £20,000 per parish in any one year.

Deadline for applications

Grants are considered by West Oxfordshire District Council Members on a quarterly basis. Deadlines for applications are as follows:

Detailed below are the grants awarded to date in 2008-09:

Leafield Parish Council - £20,000
Install Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA).

Tackley Parish Council - £2,250
Install play area fencing.

The Bartons Victory War Memorial Hall Fund - £1,150
Construct access path to play area.

Witney Town Council - £16,052.72
Install new equipment and surfacing.

 

Detailed below are the grants awarded in 2007-08:

Eynsham Parish Council - £18,519.60
Provide additional facilities at Witney Road play area.

Woodstock Town Council - £1,914
Install two pieces of equipment, self closing gate and picnic bench.

 

Detailed below are the grants awarded in 2006-07:

Burford Town Council - £2,000
Installation of two bucket and two flat swings.

CASPER (Churchill & Sarsden Playground Equipment Replacement) - £20,000
Update equipment on Churchill village green.

Chadlington Parish Council - £9,532
Purchase of replacement playground equipment.

Stanton Harcourt Parish Council - £9,288
New play area for under 8s.

The Bartons Victory War Memorial Hall Fund - £1,500
Installation of toddler adventure unit.

 

Detailed below are the grants awarded in 2005-06:

Brize Norton Parish Council - £20,000
Improvements to the existing play area at Elderbank Hall.

Carterton Town Council - £3,000
Installation of a youth shelter at The Dell.

Freeland Parish Council - £4,680
Installation of a youth shelter, bench and litter bin.

Project Hailey (Kidz 'R' Us) - £20,000
Installation of teenage equipment.

Witney Town Council - £20,000
Purchase of replacement playground equipment and fencing.

Woodstock Town Council - £1,232.59
Purchase and installation of playground signs.

Alvescot Parish Council - £11,900
Construct multi-use games area on village playing field.

Bladon Parish Council - £6,406
Install new playground on Park Street.

Chadlington Parish Council - £1,800
Installation of a new roundabout.

Combe Junior Sports - £2,887
Installation of a permanent all-weather playing strip on the cricket square.

Combe Sports & Social Club - £3,243
Purchase tractor and gang mowers.

Eynsham Cricket Club - £3,150
Purchase a tractor and gang mowers and construction of car park.

Finstock Golden Jubilee Committee - £8,000
Redevelopment of village play area.

Fulbrook Parish Council - £20,000
Redevelopment of village play area.

Great & Little Tew Cricket Club - £2,030
Purchase a tractor mower and lightweight covers.

Hailcorn Tenants and Residents Association - £17,200
Installation of a new playground suitable for toddlers and juniors.

Oxford Downs Cricket Club - £1,650
Purchase outfield mower.

Porter Recreation Ground Charity - £780
Installation of a 'Fun Ball Game' piece of equipment.

Standlake Recreation Group - £2,000
Installation of a solar lit teenage shelter

Swinbrook Cricket Club - £4,448
Purchase pitch roller, sight screens, bowling machine and catching cradle.

The Skate Escape, Leafield - £20,000
Construction of wheeled sports facility on village playing field.
