Are you receiving pension credits

If you are receiving pension credits you will be entitled to help with your rent and council tax. The pension service will complete a benefit form with you when you make and application for pension credits.

Pension Credits are awarded by the pension service to anyone of pensionable age to guarantee a minimum income of

  • £124.05 a week if you are single
  • £189.35 a week if you have a partner

This is known as Guaranteed Pension Credit.

Additionally, if you are over 65 you could qualify for Savings Credits. This could give you up to

  • £19.71 if you are single
  • £26.13 a week if you have a partner

You can find out more about pension credits by visiting the Pension Services website.

If you aren't receiving pension credits please visit our Council Tax and Housing Benefit sections for more information about receiving help.
