Next steps in developing the Sustainable Community StrategyHaving agreed changes to the Vision and Priorities as a result of consultation and evidence gathering, the next stage in developing the Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS) is to evolve a detailed Action Plan to address the issues identified. This work is planned to take place between February and May 2008, and will involve further consultation with key organisations and individuals to develop a draft SCS for West Oxfordshire. Involving key partnersTo be effective in addressing the challenges facing the District the new SCS must have the support of key partners. It will be the strategic framework for the work of the Partnership and it is critical that partners are actively involved in the action planning process and in taking the lead in delivering certain agreed outcomes. This process will also involve drawing in other parties who have a contribution to make, for example some who attended the community consultation events. Further consideration will also be given to future arrangements for managing the performance of the Partnership in delivering the priority outcomes. A Sustainable Community Strategy for West OxfordshireThe intention is that a final strategy document will be presented to the Steering Group of the West Oxfordshire Strategic Partnership in September 2008. This will include performance measures and an action plan setting out the actions WOSP and its partners will seek to deliver during the first year. "Shaping Futures" will be launched at a community event being planned for October 2008. |
