Village Halls (Major Scheme) Grant
This grant assists Village Hall Management Committees and organisations managing Community Centres with applications to external funding bodies by making a contribution towards the project costs.
Amounts awarded
The maximum grant available is £100,000 per parish in any one year.
Deadline for applications
The deadline for applications is 3rd November 2008.
Criteria
- A Major Scheme is defined as a project of a capital nature involving the purchase and construction or significant improvement/refurbishment of a property.
- Grant aid will not be given for general minor repairs or routine maintenance e.g. re-decoration.
- The application must be made to support an application for a major grant to an external funding body e.g. the National Lottery.
- Applicants must show that they are able to meet the appropriate external funding body criteria and the specified level of self-investment required. In the absence of such criteria the applicant must fund at least 25% of the project cost.
- Applicants must meet the level of self-investment stated in the funding breakdown.
- Offers of sponsorship or other sources of grant funding towards the project must be supported by written agreements in principle.
- Applications must demonstrate significant community benefit.
- Projects must take place within West Oxfordshire and be of benefit primarily to residents of the District.
