Village Halls (Minor Scheme) Grant

This grant assists Village Hall Management Committees and organisations managing Community Centres by contributing towards the costs associated with improvements to existing buildings.

Amounts awarded

Grants will be awarded up to a maximum of 40% of the total project cost.  This will be limited to a maximum grant of £12,500 per parish in any one year.

Deadline for applications

Grants are considered by West Oxfordshire District Council Members on a quarterly basis. Deadlines for applications are as follows:

Detailed below are the grants awarded to date in 2008-09:

Combe Reading Room Trust - £1,000
Refurbish the rainwater goods and upgrade the toilet facilities.

Finstock Village Hall - £722
Refurbish the water damaged kitchen and toilets following a successful repair of the roof.

 

Detailed below are the grants awarded in 2007-08:

Milton-under-Wychwood Village Hall - £12,500
Improve existing toilet facilities and incorporate toilets for disabled users.

South Leigh Parish Council - £1,080
Repair and re-instate a slate roof to the village hall.

Standlake Village Hall - £3,300
Refurbish and improve kitchen facilities and bar area. Upgrade water heating system and improvements to main hall stage.

 

Detailed below are the grants awarded in 2006-07:

Finstock Village Hall - £770
Flat roof replacement.

Hanborough Community Association - £2,000
Recreation hall extension.

 

Detailed below are the grants awarded in 2005-06:

Churchill Village Hall - £4,200
Replacement of windows throughout the hall with double glazing and replacement suspended ceiling in the main hall.

Fifield Parish Hall - £875
Electrical improvements.

Freeland Village Hall - £212
Purchase of blackout curtains.

Standlake Village Hall - £2,850
Car park improvements.

Stonesfield Village Hall - £6,873.75
Installation of a new secure front door, disabled toilet and access, and updated kitchen and internal door.

 

Detailed below are the grants awarded in 2004-05:

Ascott-under-Wychwood Parish Council - £4,594.39
Installation of a new lighting system to enhance drama performances and also the installation of hot air hand driers in three toilets and the kitchen at Tiddy Hall.

Charlbury Town Council - £11,516.72
Corner House roof repairs, replacement rainwater goods, external joinery and decorations.  External flagstone replacements, rendering and plinth repairs.

Combe Village Hall and Recreation Ground Committee - £7,945
Refurbishment of village hall.

Milton-under-Wychwood Village Hall - £12,788.50
Replacement windows and doors, electric and hot water systems.

Minster Lovell Parish Council - £4,221.65
Improved toilet facilities at St Kenelm's Hall.

South Leigh Parish Council - £528.68
Purchase 10 new tables, 40 chairs and a storage trolley for the village hall.
